Having taken over the Lancashire & Yorkshire Bank, The Alliance and Valley Heritage have the space and resources to make a fantastic contribution to the beautiful town of Bacup. Introducing a coworking space to the area provides vast benefits to local businesses and individuals and looks to help the community as a whole.

Rossendale is full of creative, driven and entrepreneurial people — but many simply lack or cannot afford a working space to establish and grow a business. That is no longer the case! With ten desks available for coworking and hot-desking, as well as two meeting rooms, you have the perfect space and opportunity to grow. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to focus or need a professional space for important client meetings — we have everything you need.

Our vision for this project is to create a focal point within Bacup and a hugely positive contribution to the town as well as the community. Our goal for the coworking space is to establish a central hub for businesses and startups needing office space to work. This will help local businesses grow and prosper in their hometown while giving back to their community.

You see, the building is community-owned and charity is a top priority. As the coworking space becomes more popular, the community will see an instant benefit. Additionally, we will be using any surplus to help maintain and enhance local heritage sites. Put simply; we want the Alliance L&Y Bank to be a hub for creative, entrepreneurial people looking for a place to call home — or in this case, an incredible place to go to work every day.

The L&Y Bank building has been used for several purposes, from a bank to an Indian restaurant and more. However, one of the key objectives of this project is to ensure longevity and create a meaningful, influential space within the community. We want to be THE place where Bacup’s businesses and creative community converge. With this special space we’re creating, we hope it will be the perfect environment for collaboration, companionship and business networking to strengthen the entirety of Bacup.

Our vision is to promote and encourage a sense of togetherness for people who often feel lonely or isolated while working. If Covid-19 taught us anything, working from home sounds great, but it can be a challenge. Whether you’re a freelancer or a small business owner with multiple members of staff — our space offers a home to creatives and businesses of all types.
