The Alliance @ L&Y Bank
The Lancashire & Yorkshire Bank in Bacup has been somewhat dormant since it ceased to be a fully operating bank. It’s been used as a restaurant and a few other things here and there, but nothing has stuck. And the building has suffered because of it. But that’s about to change. Thanks to Valley Heritage, the building once again serves the people of Bacup in a new and exciting way!
The Alliance coworking space provides various resources for local businesses, freelancers, contractors and more. With ten desks available as well as two meeting rooms, it’s a brilliant place for businesses to grow and collaborate with fellow professionals. Also, thanks to our simplistic ‘easy in, easy out’ system (using a mobile app), the space offers plenty of flexibility to ensure your workspace is available as and when you need it.

Hot-Desking Facilities
Due to the pandemic and more flexible approaches to work, hot-desking has quickly become a staple of modern working. It’s not just a trend or passing phase. It’s a fantastic way for people to work when and where they please. Often utilised by self-employed people and small businesses, hot-desking offers the space and resources for people to be productive in a flexible and energised environment.
Our coworking space has ten hot desks, all of which are on an ‘easy in, easy out’ system and be booked on a day-by-day basis.
A desk will cost £12.50 a day on a pay-as-you-go system, and we have a variety of membership options available. We also have communal spaces and facilities available, which you can find below!

At some point, every freelancer or business owner will have to have meetings with clients, be it face-to-face or online. And although we all chuckle at clips of people in zoom calls being interrupted, usually by their kids, it can prove problematic for a professional environment.
At Alliance, we have two meeting rooms available (six seats & eight seats). Both spaces are furnished and can easily be configured to suit your needs.
Additionally, the smaller room is located and also features a small kitchen! So, if you’re hiring the space for you and some colleagues, it’s the perfect mini office environment.
